To join us, you will need to:
1. Go to https://www.servga.gov/agreement.php?mode=unit and complete the online application. This application is required to fulfill state and Federal requirements. All information will be kept in strictest confidence. When filling out the application, please choose Gwinnett, Newton, or Rockdale County, then click the circle next to "East Metro Health District/MRC GEM" to choose our MRC unit. If you prefer to complete a paper application, click here to get one in Adobe Acrobat® format*. If you need help getting this application, completing the online application, or with anything else, please contact us (see below).
2. Print and complete the background check information and permission form in Adobe Acrobat® format*. Submit the form per the directions printed on the last page. Please do not send the form to MRC GEM - we do not need to have this confidential information, which will be used only by the official agency completing the background check.
3. Complete either FEMA's IS-22 course or the first two modules of the American Red Cross Intro to Disaster course, then e-mail us to let us know you're done or tell us at your MRC GEM event. Be sure to contact us if you need help accessing or completing either course!
